We represented a native of the Philippines who was convicted of a fraud offense so after entering the United States. He was placed in removal proceedings for having committed a crimes involving moral turpitude. Since his plea and conviction was before 1996, we applied for a 212(c) waiver in immigration court. Upon considering the hardship and positive factors in our client’s case, the immigration judge granted our 212(c) waiver application, terminated removal proceedings and allowed our client to remain in the United States.
