Executive order action by Obama will be announced Thursday night during a prime time address to the nation. President Obama’s plan to use his executive power as President to sign an executive order granting relief to about 5 million undocumented immigrants in the United States will be controversial and will face challenge from the Republicans.
What may be part of President Obama Executive Order?
1- allow parents of children who are American citizens to obtain documents to work and avoid deportation;
2- protect illegal immigrants who came to the United States as children and allow them to obtain documents to work and avoid deportation;
3- expansion of work visas
4- dedicate resources to enforcement of removal/deportation of criminal aliens
How Republicans may stop President Obama?
1- resolution of disapproval by Congress
2- cut funding for the executive order
3- initiate impeachment proceedings for President Obama
