What To Expect From The U.S. Citizenship Test

The U.S. citizenship or naturalization test is relatively straightforward. You will be asked to:

  1. Read a sentence in English that contains certain words.
  2. Write a sentence in English using certain words.
  3. Answer 10 U.S. History questions that have been taken from a list of 100 questions.

You will need to get 6 of the 10 questions correct in order to pass the history exam.

If you fail, you are allowed to retake the English portion and/or history exam once within 90 days of your first attempt.
